Human IndomitableYes, yes, we know. We have drilled into your head our response. It has to do with standards of living, with the stupidity of governments, with the idiocy of political systems and the inalienable right to be sovereign over our own properties.

And all this is just fine and true.

But why are Libertarians? Because in the end, all those lofty goals are just side effects of one simple human property; as a species, we are indomitable.

We believe in humans precisely because we don't give up. We fight. We pursue. We try. If Plan A does not work, we go with Plan B. If this plan fails, we switch to C. If this one collapses we move to D. If this one breaks down, we continue with E and so forth. As a species, we simply don't give up.

We don't believe in the purity of the human spirit.

How could we? We are a product of evolution; a compromise for survival.

We don't believe in good or evil.

How could we? We can't even agree as to what is good or evil.

We don't believe in a religion or an ultimate reward or god passing dictums and rules for our own wellbeing.

How could we? We can't even determine if god exists!

But we can and we do believe in one thing: the endless push for survival.

Because it is survival that has brought us where we stand today. It is survival that pushes us in a million different directions and places, goals and actions, points of view and blind spots. It is survival that is at the core of what it means to be human. It is survival the engine that fuels our curiosity and efforts, our dedication and successes as well as failures. It is survival that defines us. And as survivors there is only one direction we can move: forward; always forward and not a step back.

We, as a species, are faced with the most formidable and daunting challenges we have ever seen. Our ecosystem is crumbling. Our destructive tendencies are flaring, Our economies are collapsing and our science is unable to provide the answers and the technologies we need. Today.

And here is where survival comes into play. Without our drive to live, we have no incentive to push into the unknown. Without our drive to stay alive, we have no reason not to give up. Without our drive to always try one more thing, we are dead; doomed to extinction and oblivion.

But here is the thing. We do have a drive to survive and as such we keep pushing the limits of what's possible. We boldly peer and probe into the unknown with the hope that we will find a solution. We do all this and the other things blindfolded, running only on our burning desire to live one more hour, one more day.

And that's it.

That's all it takes.

Isn't it amazing that what has brought us to this point is simply our stubbornness against surrender and our shouting to the wind: Not Today!

It is for these reasons that we believe in you. Because as a species we all have the drive to survive. It is in you and it is in us.

As a species, we don't surrender. We don't quit. We don't negotiate.

Faith is what we build with our hands. Destiny is the direction we launch ourselves into.

We are libertarians precisely because we don't believe blindly in the unproven; we believe only and place our faith within what little we know for certain. And what we know is simply this: humans have the destiny of striving for survival.

And we know this because is what made it possible for us to be here today.

Anything else is just speculation. Private speculation.

It is for this reason, the fact that we all have different speculations but we are united in our wish to survival that we are libertarians.

We don't know what awaits us in the future.

We don't have a clue as to how long this trend will hold.

We don't pretend to read the signs of what's to come with absolute certainty.

All we know for sure and where we place our faith is in the fact that we are here today. And if we want to be here tomorrow, we must strive to still exist when the clock hits midnight.

Think!

Our science is simply a model of what we know. Our technology is simply the application of said science with the goal or producing useful results. Our extrapolations are simply guesses as to what lies ahead. But without the drive to go and look, to actually go and seek, we are dead.

And it is for this reason that we are libertarians.

We want you to know. We want you to be unleashed. We want you to be free to go and seek. In your own way. In the direction more suitable to you. At your own pace. Within your own reach.

Without this, without this freedom to go beyond, actually go beyond; we are dead.

It is for this reason that we need Libertarianism, not because it is the ultimate guidance, the ultimate rule book, but because it is the philosophy, the very idea that it is more consistent with the freedom we need to survive as a species. Today. Tomorrow our very freedom will provide a different idea and as such, if we want to survive, we shall need to embrace it.

Libertarianism is not a way of life and it is not a limitation on your life; Libertarianism is the opposite, it is whatever you care to define for your own life.

For all of this, we are libertarians and we hope you will soon be too.

We just wanted to let you know the good news.

We just wanted to clue you in that in the end, you are in control of your life.

We just wanted to emphasize that in the end, it is up to you. And us. And everybody else.

Rejoice!

And no, we are not kidding.

Rejoice!

As a human species, we are moving in the right direction. As best we can. As much we let each other do so. As fast as the laws of physics and humans allow us.

It is up to us to cross those limits. It is up to every one of us to think beyond and then go beyond today's lives.

Look to your right.

Look to your left.

Now notice there is nobody there.

You are alone. Afraid. Cold.

But you shouldn't be.

Each one of us is in the same position. Each one of use makes the best decisions we can. Each one of use affects each other.

We seek support for ourselves and in so doing we support each other.

We act for ourselves but we effect each other.

We look after ourselves but in the process we look after all of us.

Rejoice!

You are not alone. You are with us and we are with you.

Whether you know it or not.

Whether you understand it or not.

Whether you believe it or not.

We are Libertarians and so are you for we are all survivors belonging to the same species. The human species. And for us, the future has just began.

Enjoy the trip. It's going to be one hell of a ride!
